KAK ART Parties

As a watercolor artist and a disabled artist, one of my most beloved ways of sharing my art is through intimate at-home events, known as KAK ART Parties. These gatherings began about ten years ago at my grandparents’ home in New Iberia, where I showcased my work to a small group of close friends. The event was such a success that it quickly became an annual tradition. As the parties grew in popularity, I moved the event to a local gallery. This opened up the opportunity for the public to experience my wildlife art and jewelry designs too.

From that point, the success of my KAK ART Parties sparked new ideas. I expanded to other cities, including Baton Rouge. I also began hosting an open house at my own home, where guests could enjoy my watercolor art and jewelry. The intimate setting of these parties fosters a personal connection. Art lovers can interact directly with me and experience the passion behind each piece. These interactions are incredibly rewarding as they allow me to share my love of animals through my art.

Why KAK ART Parties Work: Connecting Art and Disability with Motivation

From a business standpoint, hosting KAK ART Parties has proven to be more successful than setting up booths at festivals or relying on online sales. Guests attending these parties are specifically there with the intention to purchase my work. They appreciate the opportunity to meet me personally, learn the stories behind my art, and take home unique pieces. This direct connection helps build a loyal community of art lovers who support not only my work but also my journey as a disabled artist.

On a personal level, I enjoy these parties because they give me a chance to meet my supporters and share my creative process with them. These events serve as a reminder of the motivation that drives me to continue creating. The interaction with guests is energizing and a reminder of why I love what I do.

How KAK ART Parties Work: A Fun, Personalized Experience for Art and Animal Art Lovers

The process for hosting a KAK ART Party is simple and tailored to make sure that everything runs smoothly:

Set the Date: The first step is to choose a date and ensure that the location is accessible. As a disabled artist, I ensure that the venue is comfortable and easy to navigate for all guests.

Create the Invitation: I design an invitation that can be printed, emailed, or texted to guests. The host distributes it to family and friends to spread the word about the upcoming event.

Party Setup: We discuss refreshments and the best way to display my watercolor art and animal art in the space. We’ll decide what needs to be moved or added to ensure that everything is presented beautifully.

The Party Begins: Typically lasting two to three hours, the party creates a relaxed atmosphere. I love sharing the story behind each painting, especially the wildlife art that showcases animals in their natural beauty.

Giving Back: At the end of the evening, I tally up the sales and provide the host with 10% of my profit. The host can choose to receive this in KAK ART merchandise, a check, or a donation to a charity of their choice, making these events not only fun but also meaningful.

Why You Should Host a KAK ART Party

I’m currently scheduling KAK ART Parties for the upcoming year and would love to bring my watercolor art and animal art to your home, business, or church. Whether you’re an art lover, an animal lover, or someone interested in supporting a disabled watercolor artist, hosting a party is a great way to connect with others and enjoy the beauty of watercolor animal art. Plus, if you live out of town, don’t worry—I’m happy to travel and bring the art to you!

Art and disability is a central part of my story, and through each of these parties, I hope to inspire others to find motivation and strength in their own creative journeys, regardless of their challenges.
